For the past few weeks Acts has been experiencing what I could only describe as the early signs revival. You only need to visit www.urtherevolution.com to get a glimpse of what I'm talking about.
Simply put, revival is when God takes over! It is usually accompanied by signs and wonders - the greatest sign being a changed life and a genuine hunger for more of God! It is when the natural embraces the supernatural and excuses are replaced by exploits.
People in the midst of revival experience the reality of God in a deeper way - they talk and walk as if He (His Presence and pleasure) means everything to them. They find it so much easier to respond to Him - altars are constantly filled - and repentance is natural and genuine.
Radical commitments follow and revolution (of love) becomes a lifestyle. Reaching out to others - so that revival can be reproduced -becomes a passionate, though often unplanned, living mission.
We're living in exciting times! There's no doubt about it. But in order for it to continue...and spread, we must:
1. Stay united.
2. Watch and pray (like revival depended on it).
3. Keep humble and under authority (no matter how much praise you get).
4. Don't entertain change that the Holy Spirit can't use (ie of the flesh).
5. See big, start small (changing the world, one life at a time)
6. Forgive - quickly - and remain (laser) focused - anything else is just not worth it.
7. Be disciplined. Revival can be messy...you can't.
8. Remember that it's not just for or about you...but the nation(s) around you.
9. Always give God all the glory - you can't handle it.
God has started the fire burning in ACTS. Let's be responsible to fuel it. Let's do more than contain revival! Let's be carriers of it!
