Bound to Christ

It's not any Sunday that you hear it preached in church but we need to be a slave (to something/ someone) before we can truly be free...
We may no longer be a slave to sin but that doesn't mean we should live as our flesh dictates. The Apostle Paul called himself a... bond-servant & a slave to Christ.
He called himself a prisoner of the Lord and told us to walk worthy of our calling/ purpose. Many ppl fail in life & even miss their destiny - either because they didn't know the truth about being bound to Christ, or if they did, refused to be...
Do you know of anyone who is still floating aimlessly - & has been for years - getting more confused & disheartened as they go...??! Chances are they love their "freedom" too much & reject any means of being bound or rooted to anything.
They also don't take discipline very well & find it very difficult to submit to authority...not realising that what they REALLY needed in their lives - like the prodigal son – is exactly that - ie to be bound/ a slave/ prisoner/ submit...& be disciplined. The issue is not whether we should be a slave...or not.
It's what or rather Who we should make ourselves bound to. Jesus said to Peter, when you were young you went where you wished but when you're older someone will take you by the hand & take you where you don't want to go...
Believe it or not, that's God's will & way for success! Jesus spoke about the death of Peter that will glorify the Father. Maybe some of us need to consider dying to ourselves today?!
Choose you this day whom you will serve. If we want to get anywhere in life we've got to be sold-out to something. What are you sold-out to ?? The quicker we accept & submit to that, the better our lives will be... & sweeter the victory!! Choose to be hot or cold...never lukewarm!
Live for nothing or die for something ;-) |
