Zaid Ibrahim - Malaysia's modern-day hero?!
Saturday, 20 Sep 2008
I read about Zaid Ibrahim's decision on Malaysiakini. He holds the title of being the first ever Minister in Malaysia to resign on issue of principle. I watched his press-conference on YouTube and I must confess that it brought a tear to my eye. The ten minute clip may have been short but strongly significant. I was impressed - with almost everything he had said that day - but especially with his comment on why he did not object to the ...

A set up of the divine kind - could it be?!
Friday, 12 Sep 2008
Since the conclusion of the recent General Elections in Malaysia, the question most frequently asked has been - why haven't they learned? This question has only been compounded with every major "boo-boo" on their part - from the "swearing sitcom" to the "internet interference" and now the "Ahmad arrogance".
Why haven't they learned - when it's glaringly obvious to everyone else, both young and old alike. Even the blind can see it ...

All the answers you need ...
Saturday, 06 Sep 2008
In just these past few days I've heard the desperate cry for help twice from two different individuals! In my line of work, these past 19 years, I've heard enough cries to discern which ones really need my help and which ones need just plain growing up!
To the latter I would like to say, all the answers you've ever needed to overcome your problem is already within you. It all now just depends on whether you will see (or are willing to see) it - or not - and how soon! My ...

It takes greater strength to respect the lesser! (The acid test of true strength)
Friday, 05 Sep 2008
I believe the greatest show of strength is when the greater can care for - not control / lord over - the lesser!
I believe it takes greater strength for a 6 foot 5 son to honour and respect a 5 foot 6 father! I also think it takes greater strength for the majority race in the Malaysian government to show equal honour and respect to the minority race(s). Any (big) fool can rule (and bully) but it takes great leadership to respect those smaller / lesser than ourselves!
May ...

Sorry ... I'm Christian!
Thursday, 04 Sep 2008
Many years ago, when the traffic cop who pulled me over asked me for a bribe, I told him "Sorry ... but I can't ... I'm a Christian". It took him a few more minutes before he decided to let me off with a warning.
I used to think I was one of the rare few who would respond in this manner, but I've been convinced otherwise from what I've heard in the past two to three years.
Just the other day, I heard a young lady testify that after she had told ...

Please be sensitive to my Malay friends!
Wednesday, 03 Sep 2008
I'm NO expert - but it's been over two decades now that this argument has gone on about whether Malaysia is an Islamic State/ Nation or a secular nation governed by a clearly formulated Constitution.
In recent times and on various occasions, there have been, more than just a few leaders (in and outside the government), especially those at the highest levels of office, who claim that Malaysia is indeed an Islamic State/ Nation or at the very least "governed by ...

Meditations of a Cat (Talking about Trust)
Monday, 01 Sep 2008
We have heard messages on revival, sung songs about revival and perhaps we have even prayed earnestly for revival to visit our churches. But how often have we asked for unity? In Jesus’ lifetime on earth, He prayed for many things - and always saw all of them answered in full – and fast - but one - His prayer for unity (John 17). Perhaps this is or should be the final focus of every church - since we’ve tried almost everything else - and because without the singleness ...
